Rev. Dr. John C. Minihan

Senior Pastor
John Minihan funny picture

Pastor John originally hails from New York and is a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary, where he received both Master of Divinity and Master of Theology degrees in 1991. In 2003 he received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. Prior to coming to Huntington in 2011, Pastor John served as Sr. Pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Newark, Ohio, and has also served congregations in Pennsylvania and Texas. He and his wife, Faith, have been married since 1984 and are the parents of four grown children (John, Hannah, Danny, and Abby). In his spare time, Pastor John enjoys running, weight training, basketball, and sports of all kinds. He loves being a pastor and his great privilege and joy is being able to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and see people grow in their faith. A Bible verse that is especially meaningful to him comes from 2 Corinthians 5:17, where God’s Word says: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”

Patrick Hall

Director of Student & Family Ministries
Patrick Hall funny pic

Patrick is a husband, father, and child of God. He is the son and brother of Presbyterian ministers. He and his 7th-grade teacher wife Rebekah are both lifelong Presbyterians and met while he attended The Citadel in Charleston, SC. They have three daughters, Abby, Emma, and Leslie. They moved to their current home in Ashland, KY in 2010 where Patrick worked as a Journeyman Technician/Salesman for his family’s refrigeration business. He served as an Elder and Chair of the Worship Committee at First Presbyterian Church of Ashland where he taught Sunday school, aided in building maintenance, and led worship for nearly 6 months in the absence of an interim minister. It was then he felt the calling to become a Pastor. The Halls have been members of Christ Presbyterian Church since it’s founding, and Patrick has served as the Director of Student and Family Ministries since August 2017.

Patrick is currently enrolled in the Master of Divinity program at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC. He plans to pursue local church ministry upon graduation.

Jane Nicholas

Director of Children’s Ministry

Jane Nicholas serves as Director of Children’s Ministry at Christ Presbyterian.  She is the youngest of four children born to amazing parents who provided her faith foundation through Christ-like example and unconditional love.  She was blessed to grow up in a small community church in Washington, WV where the believers invested in the children and youth by providing many opportunities to grow in faith and share Christ’s love in creative ways.  She graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1993, West Virginia University School of Medicine in 1998, and Pediatric residency at Charleston Area Medical Center in 2001.  She serves as one of the Pediatric clinical faculty at CAMC Women’s and Children’s Hospital where she has the privilege of teaching medical students and residents – helping to train the next generation of pediatricians.  Through her clinical work, she sees the challenges encountered by children and adolescents in our culture.  Thus, she feels the Lord’s calling to work alongside parents at Christ Presbyterian to help our children realize their identity in Christ and help equip them to be joy-filled disciples with resilient, “sticky” faith.  She prays for the Holy Spirit to direct and work through her efforts to bring worship and the Scriptures to life for the children through storytelling, drama, music and crafts.  In addition to working with the children, Jane leads CPC’s G.I.F.T. youth mentoring program, our handbell choir, and our congregational retreat each Memorial Day Weekend.  Jane and her husband, David, have been active in CPC’s faith community since they were married at FPC in 2001.  They have two young adult daughters, Laura and Emily Kate.

Susan Adkins

Nursery Coordinator

Susan grew up in Michigan but has lived in West Virginia for over 30 years. She is a lifelong Christian, baptized by her grandfather, and has been a member of Christ Presbyterian Church since its beginning. She and her husband Spencer have been married for over 33 years and have four sons, two attending Marshall University and two married, living in Charlotte. Her most rewarding job has been as a stay-at-home mother.

At CPC, she feels blessed to care for our youngest members. Her hope as Nursery Director is to start these precious children on the road to their own faith formation. Through the simple act of quiet rocking, reading stories, playing, and praying, they will learn that church is God’s house and a place where they are loved and safe.

Faith Minihan

Director of Music Ministry

Faith considers it a privilege and honor to have helped lead music in worship since Christ Presbyterian’s beginning. Married to Pastor John, and now an empty-nester, Faith is the mother of four adult children. It is her desire to encourage the musical gifts of those in the congregation, and to give everyone the opportunity to share in the music ministry at Christ Presbyterian.

(Growing In Faith Together) ministry, and Memorial Day weekend congregational retreat. David and Jane share a passion for ministry to the next generation through these ministries, as well as teaching short-term Sunday school classes.
